Umar Setiawan.
In a monastery's old library, where shelves of ancient, leather-bound volumes stretched into shadowy corners, the air was thick with the scent of musty parchment and whispered secrets. Dim candlelight cast shifting shadows on the walls, revealing cryptic symbols and hidden passages that seemed to move when not directly observed. One fateful night, a scholar discovered a hidden chamber behind a sliding bookshelf, revealing a sinister tome bound in blackened leather, its pages filled with arcane symbols and dark prophecies. As the scholar read, the library itself seemed to breathe with an unsettling presence. When he finished the book, he vanished, becoming a part of the shadowy library forever, leaving only a chill and the haunting silence of a dark revelation.

I was hooked immediately after trying the sample and I used up the sample so quickly I had to get this full bottle. It’s such a warm, comforting scent, it’s smells like an old book from the library and a warm cup of black tea. Rich, deep and comforting.
The materials, the packaging, everything about this fragrance are beautiful
I ordered a sample of this and oh my goodness, the scent is beautiful and elegant and the same time takes you on a stroll down aisles of old books. I love the strong scent of aged leather in the beginning and then the softness of the dark vanilla. Will definitely purchase the full size.
Packaging 10/10 bottle 10/10 and the scent in authentically indie while achieving a level of refinement that makes you take a breath. Old Library leaves me with a haunting melody of sensory triggers, evoking importance and magnitude.
I will be reviewing Dark Tales (again) over on tik tok and instagram @davidvonfragrance please join me to celebrate this wonderful perfume house.
This fragrance and house in general create more than just perfumes. They genuinely tell you a story, and transports you to a time and place that reflects the scent. As for ‘Old Livrary’ — I’m instantly transported to a old and dimly lit room/house/library filled with bookshelves. The shelves and books are dusty. Almost hard to open without coughing yourself to death. Within the books lies long forgotten wisdom that have been inherited for centuries.
The fragrance sits tight to the skin (it’s not a beast by any means). It’s mysterious, sophisticated and dark. Perfect for when you want to put yourself in a focused state without too many distractions. Gorgeous stuff.
