At Dark Tales | Artisan Perfumery, we want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. In accordance with EU consumer law, you have the right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days of receiving your order — no questions asked.

The 14-day right of withdrawal applies to consumer customers in the EU: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden.

Your Right of Withdrawal

Under the EU Consumer Rights Directive, you have the right to cancel your order within 14 calendar days from the day you (or a third party you designate) receive the goods.

To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must notify us of your decision before the 14-day period expires. You can do this by submitting our Return Request Form below or by contacting us directly at support@bydarktales.com.

Product Conditions for Returns

• Items must be returned in their original, unused condition with all original packaging and seals intact.
• Sealed fragrance products that have been opened cannot be returned for hygiene reasons.
• Discovery sets and samples are non-returnable once opened.
• Gift sets must be returned in their original condition, unopened.

How to Return an Item

1. Submit our Return Request Form below within 14 days of receiving your order.
2. We will confirm your return request and provide return shipping instructions within 2 business days.
3. Pack your item securely and ship it back to us. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer.
4. The items must be returned in compliance with all applicable regulations concerning dangerous goods transportation.
5. Once we receive and inspect the returned item, we will process your refund within 14 days.

Important: the product must be sent to us with a traceable tracking number.

Dangerous Goods Transportation

Perfumes and fragrance products fall under restricted shipping categories and are classified as dangerous goods due to their alcohol content and flammability.

If the customer chooses to use their own carrier for the return, the customer is responsible for ensuring that the carrier is authorised and qualified to transport dangerous goods, and that all applicable transport requirements are met, including correct packaging, documentation, and dangerous goods labelling.

Otherwise, the customer must carefully follow our return instructions, use the courier service offered or approved by us, and apply all required labels, documentation, or packaging instructions necessary for the safe and compliant return of the product.

Refunds

Refunds will be issued to the original payment method.

If the customer withdraws from the entire order within the 14-day withdrawal period and the returned products meet the return conditions, we will refund the product price and the original standard shipping cost.

If the customer returns only part of an order, we will refund the price of the returned product(s) only. The original shipping cost will not be refunded, as the remaining items were still delivered to the customer.

If the customer selected a more expensive shipping option than our standard delivery option to the region, only the cost of standard delivery will be refunded in the case of a full order withdrawal.

Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer, unless the product is damaged, defective, or incorrect.

We reserve the right to deduct from the refund if the returned item shows signs of use beyond what is necessary to assess its nature, characteristics, and function.

Items that are not returned, returned incomplete, or returned in a spoiled, broken, damaged, opened, used, or otherwise unsuitable condition will not be eligible for a refund or exchange.

Refunds will be withheld until we have received and inspected the returned goods. Then the refund will be issued within 14 days.

Exceptions

The right of withdrawal does not apply to:

• Sealed goods that are not suitable for return due to health protection or hygiene reasons, if unsealed after delivery (e.g., opened perfume bottles, sample vials, opened solid perfumes and similar).
• Customised or personalised (bespoke) products made to your specifications.
