An olfactory history of Arina Franzén | Botanical Perfumery, an independent Swedish botanical perfume house powered by Dark Tales | Artisan Perfumery and devoted to the art of natural fragrance creation.
Created by perfumer Arina P. Franzén, the collection explored the expressive beauty of botanical ingredients: precious floral absolutes, aromatic herbs, natural resins, woods, balsams and spices. Each fragrance was composed to celebrate the individuality and complexity of materials derived from nature.
Fragrances are arranged chronologically, from newest to oldest, and alphabetically within each year.
2025
Crème Brûlée (2025) — Creamy coconut and delicate linden blossom melt into golden caramel, powdery iris and white magnolia, resting on a rich, comforting base of natural vanilla, sandalwood and warm bran.
Fleur (2025) — Sparkling red grapefruit, aromatic lavender and elemi resin introduce a lush floral heart of jasmine sambac, orange blossom, purple magnolia, carnation, geranium and ylang-ylang, enriched with rosewood, sandalwood, copaiba balsam and soft vanilla.
Green Tea & Black Currant (2025) — Fresh green mandarin and elemi resin unfold into tart blackcurrant, aromatic clary sage and earthy maté tea, settling into a deep, resinous base of black spruce and copaiba balsam.
Katholikon (2025) — An atmospheric portrait of an ancient church, where luminous frankincense rises through clouds of sacred smoke, mingling with dark myrrh, Buddha wood, aged oak and deep, warm resinous accords.
Oud & Fig (2025) — Fresh green fig leaves introduce the warmth of Buddha wood, gradually descending into a rich, enveloping composition of ebony wood, creamy sandalwood and dark agarwood (oud).
Renaissance (2025) — Green mandarin, cardamom and aromatic marjoram reveal a delicate floral heart of linden blossom, mimosa and carnation, softened by amyris wood and grounded in earthy patchouli, cypress and palo santo.
2023
Ancient Woods (2023) — Bright lemon and clary sage open into smoky palo santo, golden beeswax and copaiba balsam, revealing the atmosphere of an ancient forest filled with black spruce, damp oakmoss, sandalwood, spikenard and frankincense.
Botanique (2023) — Fresh green mandarin, aromatic verbena, and hemp introduce a vibrant botanical heart of lavender, linden blossom, orange blossom, geranium and blue cypress, settling into green violet leaves and resinous hinoki and Siam woods.
Decadence (2023) — Bitter coffee, bergamot and aromatic basil unfold into dark cocoa, carnation, earthy porcini mushrooms and poplar, resting on a deep, velvety base of tobacco, aged vanilla, sandalwood, oakwood, cypress and bran.
Queen of Thorns (2023) — A magnificent bouquet of white rose, Bulgarian rose, Turkish rose and Moroccan rose, illuminated by grapefruit and enriched with rare boronia, purple magnolia and clove, grounded in the woody depth of cypress and guaiacwood.
Smoke & Mirrors (2023) — Bergamot, blood orange and rosewood lead into a smoky, resinous heart of golden beeswax, cistus, jasmine, mimosa and Peru balsam, settling into earthy vetiver, cypress, cypriol and warm tonka bean.
Tuberose Noir (2023) — Creamy coconut, pink pepper, and petitgrain introduce a dark, opulent floral heart of tuberose, jasmine sambac, iris, magnolia, pink lotus and ylang-ylang, resting on earthy maté, hay, carrot seed and soft sandalwood accords.
