VACANCY
ORDERS MANAGER & PRODUCTION ASSISTANT
Part-time with potential to grow into full-time
Uppsala | Starting the last week of September 2026
Dark Tales is growing, and with Halloween releases, Christmas production and an increasingly busy season ahead, we are looking for a new person to join our team.
We currently need immediate hands-on help with production finishing and packing. During our busiest season, the role will be strongly focused on sealing, labeling, boxing and preparing finished products for sale and shipment, making sure every bottle and package leaves our studio exactly as it should.
Once the high season is over, the position will gradually develop into a combined Production Assistant & Orders Manager role, with more responsibility for order processing, fulfilment and the day-to-day flow between finished production and outgoing orders.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are currently going through some internal movement within the team and are looking for someone to join Dark Tales in a junior position.
This is an entry point into the company, but not necessarily where the journey ends. Everyone in our team has started by learning the practical foundations of the business first. We believe that understanding how our products are finished, packed and sent into the world creates an essential foundation for taking on more responsibility later.
The first stage of the position will include:
- Sealing finished perfume bottles
- Applying labels with very high precision
- Boxing and finishing products
- Preparing samples and discovery sets
- Preparing products for seasonal launches and larger releases
- Packing outgoing orders
- Checking that products and packaging meet our quality standards
- Maintaining an organised and efficient production environment
- Working together with the team to meet demanding seasonal deadlines
After the seasonal peak, the role will gradually expand to include:
- Processing and managing customer orders
- Coordinating order fulfilment
- Preparing shipping documentation
- Working with our digital systems and software
- Identifying and resolving order-related issues
- Keeping track of orders from placement to dispatch
- Supporting general production and operational tasks when needed
WHOM ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for someone who is responsible, practical, quick to learn and extremely detail-oriented.
For us, details matter. A label that is slightly crooked is still crooked. A box that doesn't look right needs to be redone. We are a small artisan company, and the person joining us needs to genuinely care about the quality and presentation of the finished product.
You should have:
- Fluent English, both spoken and written
- Swedish is a merit, but not a requirement
- A polite and professional manner
- An exceptionally strong eye for detail
- A perfectionist approach to practical work
- High personal responsibility and reliability
- The ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet demanding deadlines
- Good organisational skills
- A strong team-player mindset, with good communication skills and the ability to cooperate closely with the whole team
- An understanding of team dynamics and the ability to adapt, communicate clearly and contribute to a positive and efficient working environment
- Confidence with technology and digital tools
- No difficulty working on Mac computers
- The ability and willingness to learn new programs and software
- A problem-solving mindset when something technical doesn't work as expected
You do not need programming or advanced IT skills. We simply need someone who is comfortable with technology, isn't intimidated by unfamiliar software and will try to understand and solve a problem rather than immediately giving up when something doesn't work.
Experience within perfumery is not required. You will learn the specifics of our products, processes and industry as part of the job.
WORKING HOURS
We will begin with a solid 50% position, with the possibility of extending the role to full-time as the position develops.
Our working hours can be quite flexible. However, during scheduled team production days, launches and particularly busy periods, you need to be available to work together with the rest of the team.
START DATE
Last week of September 2026
We are entering our busiest production period of the year, so we are looking for someone who can start promptly.
WHAT WE OFFER
Dark Tales is not a very conventional workplace.
We are a small, alternative-minded team working in the world of independent artistic perfumery, gothic storytelling, folklore and strange imaginary worlds brought to life through scent.
We offer:
- A creative and unusual working environment
- A small team where your work has a visible impact
- The opportunity to learn the perfume industry from the inside
- The possibility to grow into a broader and more responsible position
- Relatively flexible working hours outside scheduled production work
- Plenty of fragrance around you
- And, importantly, lots of candy in the office
If you are someone who notices when something is two millimetres out of place, enjoys precise hands-on work, takes responsibility seriously and would like to become part of the strange universe that is Dark Tales, we would love to hear from you.
