The first fragrance I smelled was "Old Library", which is why I ordered the complete Discovery Set. The packaging looks great and I really like the small vials and the stories behind the fragrances.
I was most curious about "Floating Candles" and I find this fragrance also very appealing.
But for me most of the other fragrances are different. I wasn't expecting them to smell that chemical, synthetic and sometimes harsh, especially the base notes of "Aurora Borealis" and "Nsfrtå" smell like Ambrocenide and the base of "Yaga" could contain something like Iso-E-Super. Sometimes my nose is a little bit too sensitive for such things.
If I had read the background information on the Dark Tales fragrances more carefully, I might not have ordered the set.
But I also ordered the Arina Franzén Discovery Sets I and II and I think that I will like them much better, as they are described as "Botanical Perfumery" and therefore do not contain any Aromachemicals.
The first two tests smell fantastic so far and I hope it continues that way.

Even though Dark Tales perfumes are still very high in natural ingredients—ranging roughly from 60–80% depending on the scent—we do use a small proportion of aroma molecules for “shading” purposes. As you mentioned, some people can indeed be sensitive to certain molecules like Iso E Super or some artificial ambers.
We’d like to clarify that we don’t use Ambrocenide in any of our formulations, but there are other materials that could occasionally evoke a similar sensation. Similarly, Yaga doesn’t contain Iso E Super; it is primarily natural, with only a very low percentage of two artificial notes. As you noted, individual sensitivity can vary, which is completely normal.
We’re glad to hear that you’ve found our botanical line a better match for your preferences. We’re also happy that you tried our Discovery Set first before committing to larger sizes—it’s exactly why we designed it that way.

The are very unique, good quality and the design of the discovery set is out of this world. I enjoyed all of the scents and I hopefully found what will be my next purchase from this brand. Most of the parfumeries and perfume brands send free samples with every order, I missed this. :-(

Cada uno de los perfumes cuenta una historia, te transporta. Es increíble. Te hace sentir cosas muy profundas.
La gran variedad de fragancias hace que puedas encontrar la que te encaje a la perfección.
Los frasquitos son fáciles de abrir si se hace con cuidado.
La cantidad es suficiente para que puedas probar incluso varios días, cosa que recomiendo, porque al menos en mi caso, los matices evolucionan, y alguno que al principio no me decía mucho, luego se transforma en uno de mis favoritos. La calidad es otra cosa a destacar de estos perfumes: algunos de ellos he tenido que dejar que pasara por si mismo porque ni el jabón me lo quitaba.
En definitiva, lo recomiendo? ABSOLUTAMENTE.
Espero de verdad que esta marca tenga el éxito que merece y podamos seguir disfrutándola mucho mucho tiempo.
The packaging is perfect and the scents are a bit soft but they’re REALLY nice. Keep it up!
What can I say... already, the packaging is sensational, I almost didn't want to open it ahah. But this set is really perfect to discover juices, and I must admit that I fell in love with many of them... I will probably order 1-2 large formats next month (in real life there are a dozen bottles that I absolutely want, sniff my wallet).
I think Arina is a truly exceptional nose who knows how to capture the essences, manipulate them, work them to give them a story. Each perfume establishes an atmosphere in which we can project ourselves very easily. And I think Dark Tales will be my favorite niche perfumery.
The only insignificant thing I could blame about this kit is that they are not easy to open without having your fingers full of them... but at the same time I really like how they are made it really looks like potions or relics from another time.
