SCENT PROFILE:
The perfume opens with a prominent pomegranate note. Slightly metallic, airy, and juicy red. Settling into a warm, gentle leathery undertone, with the floral bouquet blending seamlessly into a harmonious, indistinct whole.

Queen Mary I sat alone, burdened by her blood-soaked crown. Shadows whispered of betrayal, haunting her with the faces of the countless souls lost to her ruthless quest for power. With withered roses in her dark hair, she gazed at the gallows, a grim testament to her reign. Haunted by the innocent, she sought redemption, but their whispers grew louder, a reminder that her legacy was forever stained with blood.

This opens with a juicy, intense, eerie yet sublime quality. I agree with the “slightly metallic, airy” descriptors. It may be confirmation bias but honestly, I can’t say that I can picture this smell as anything other that “red”. Vibrant and blood red. It develops into a floral bouquet with myrrh, incensy touches, and my nose picks up predominantly on the tuberose. It doesn’t smell how tuberose usually smells in other perfumes though, it is a very balanced floral bouquet, but tuberose lends it a carnality that to me feels intoxicating and wonderful. I don’t find that it settles particularly dark; to be honest it reminds me of some vintage classics, with a timeless elegance that make me love this that much more. It is somehow very nostalgic in the opening, it reminds me of my family in the south of Spain, specifically my devout Catholic aunt. This is rich and unique, one of my favourites from the collection, and I would really love to full size.
